Former Griz Dan Moore part of NFL veteran combine
Former Montana fullback Dan Moore was one of 105 football players who worked out for scouts and coaches at the NFL veteran scouting combine last weekend. The former Griz left a mark on at least one set of eyes:

The event held for former college players and pros looking to work back into the NFL drew 2,000 applicants and yielded a pair of contracts. Receiver Nathan Slaughter was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals while cornerback Deveron Carr signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday.
Also among the group of hopefuls was former Missouri defensive end and SEC defensive player of the year Michael Sam, who famously became the first opening gay athlete drafted into the NFL last year. Sam was cut by the St. Louis Rams before the end of training camp, making another stop with Dallas before falling out of the league.
As for Moore, a 5-foot-10, 235-pound Grizzly from 2009-2012, the 25-year old had a productive day at the veteran’s combine. He caught the ball well, according to a post on ESPN.com’s NFL Nation.
“I know I can still play, but I feel like I didn’t get an opportunity to get in there and show it the last time,” Moore told NFL Nation. “I feel like I got unfinished business. So I want to get back in there and let them know that I’m ready, and I can still play.”
Moore, of Tucson, Arizona, signed with Indianapolis in 2013 after an injury-marred career in Missoula. He compiled 848 rushing yards and 12 TDs on 196 carries (4.3 average) during his Grizzly days. Moore also caught 26 passes for 338 yards and two scores.
A shoulder injury knocked him out during Colts’ training camp in 2013 and he was cut before the season started. The back was out of the league in 2014, back in Tucson working for another shot at a career in football.
