North Dakota narrows nickname list to 15

From a list of hundreds and hundreds of nickname suggestions — some considerable and some very obviously not — the University of North Dakota has settled on 15 possibilities for the school’s new athletic department moniker.
Among the list, which was whittled first from 1,172 individual public submissions and then from 63, is a wide variety of nicknames as the school continues its move past the stricken Fighting Sioux days.

Grizzly Academic Center update and tour

The Grizzly Student-Athlete Academic Center for the University of Montana is set to open in August, just ahead of the 2015-16 school year.
Under construction since this winter, Montana Athletic Director Kent Haslam updated the project’s progress this week in a video posted on the school’s social media sites.
The academic center on the north side of the Adams Center will feature study space and computers for the school’s student-athletes in the same building where they train and practice.
